ATTICA. Athens. Circa 165-42 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 32 mm, 16.73 g, 11 h), 140/39. Head of Athena Parthenos to right, wearing triple-crested Attic helmet adorned with long tendril on the bowl, and with the foreparts of four horses above the visor. Rev. A-ΘE Owl standing facing on Amphora; to left, monogram; to right, aphlaston above monogram; in exergue, ΠΡ; all within laurel wreath. Thompson 264. Minor weakness on the reverse and with a graffito of ΜЄΝЄΔΗΜΟ on the obverse, otherwise, nearly very fine.
